Programme Management

Programmes are about building new business operations or managing substantial change to existing operations, usually involving major IT implementations and migrations.

Programme stages can encompass the full lifecycle from selecting and managing suppliers, through management of the implementation and commissioning of business systems, to handover to an operational team to manage in service. I offer experience across all of these stages.

The key to managing a large programme or project is that it involves not just systems implementation, but the whole process of moving the business from its current state to a new, more effective, efficient operational service. Unless the two go in tandem, the new systems will not be successful.

You need a Programme Manager who understands that the objective is business transformation, not just systems implementation.

Benefits of Independence

Appointing an in-house resource as Programme Manager means taking a senior resource out of an operational role. If you use a resource from a Consultancy or a Systems Integrator to manage your programme, however, they will be incentivised to maximise the revenues they bring from their client.
